It was good but I felt it was lacking something
informative fast-paced

I received a digital Advanced Readers Copy from Netgalley and all opinions are my own.
I think this would have helped me a few years ago when I was figuring myself out.
This isn't a book that can tell you yes you are trans or non binary but it'll explain some of the concepts and will hopefully make you a bit less stressed about it all.
I like how the information wasn't just a huge block of text and was broken up with puzzles and activities as well as it telling you exactly what you were going to learn at the beginning of each chapter. And recaps at the end of the chapter too we're helpful.
One thing I found a bit odd was how the language seemed to yoyo from kids level language to harder to understand terms and concepts. Yes gender is hard to put in simple terms sometimes but the language used just didn't feel consistent. There were several metaphors and figures of speech that didn't really work too.
Over all I'd recommend it to younger readers who want to learn more about gender.

I found this book really interesting! It covers a lot of different people though I wish there were some Aromantic People covered and more Asexual people talked about. (There is an A in LGBTQIA for a reason.)
I learnt a lot I didn't already know plus there seemed to be a wide spread of more and lesser know figures as well as ones from different times throughout history.
This book is great if you want a base to do more research on or if you want to learn the basics about these important LGBTQIA+ icons.

The Nexus

Vered Ehsani

DID NOT FINISH: 56%

I got a ebook of The Nexus from Netgalley, All opinions are my own
I really wanted to enjoy this.
However I found the multiple perspectives incredibly confusing. There was just too much going on at once for me to understand what was happening. I also found that the story seemed to skip from one thing to another very quickly.
Maybe if it was clearer when each perspective change happened I'd have had an easier time though my chronic illnessess makes it hard to understand things so that could be to blame for some of my confusion.
It felt like the author dumped a lot of information about the world too but that's normal for a sci-fi or fantasy book.
Overall I wish I could have enjoyed it because the blurb looked amazing but it just wasn't for me at the moment.
