Gosh I really liked this - funny and acerbic and dark and dealing with timely topics such as racism and privilege while also delivering an intriguing mystery. If you're looking for a noir with a streak of pitch-black humour running through it, then I would absolutely recommend this. I really hope this is the first of a series from Nicieza, because I will follow the two leads - former FBI-profiler-protege Andie Stern and disgraced reporter Kenny Lee - anywhere.

Really hilarious, very snarky, absolutely rags on Love Actually. 5/5

4.5/5! Really enjoyed this - light and fun and a really sweet, breezy Cinderella retelling. Will absolutely check out the rest of the series when they come out!

5-star ending to a 5-star trilogy. Can't wait to see what Jackson writes next.

This reads ike a 90s action movie - think Speed meets Air Force One maybe - and has both the best and worst elements of those genres in there too. However, it's fun, fast, and very readable. Also Jo Watkins deserves the world.

Like Jane Austen meets Dorothy Whipple, this is a really funny and timely social satire drama about the events leading up to the fatal destruction of a cliffside hotel.
