This is one of the few books that are able to hit close to home. It hurts, but it also gives a great sense of comfort in being understood and seen.

Ellie is too young to be confronting such a cruel world, but she did it. And she did it wonderfully.

I wish I read this when I was younger. If only I read this before, it would have helped me in more ways than one, but mostly to heal. I think every woman needs to read this book, as it talks about mysoginy, abusive relationships with men, a woman's body, the way women are conditioned to live for men and not for themselves.

One of my best reads of this year, for sure. I absolutely loved it.
