It's got everything. Fun characters, high stakes plot, surprises, swoonworthy romance side plot, ending that wraps up there important bits and leaves room for the next book.

It's amazing how even tho I know this story already from reading its sequels, it still managed to surprise and enchant me

You just have to roll with this one.

1st read:
It starts off slow. But then the worst thing that could happen to our protagonist happens. From there, I was hooked.

2nd read:
I am astounded by the delicacy of the thematic and plot foreshadowing.
This one is my favorite of the series, so far.

I love the contrast between Miles and Ivan in this book. They're perfect foils to each other.

The beginning was a little too slow, Heroine a little too passive.
But the ending was so Girlboss

I absolutely adore this book! Our protagonist is so earnest and kind and out of his depth, and the supporting cast is entertaining and challenges him immensely. Easily 5 stars!

This series starts with space pirate adventures. In this book, it turns into a comedy of manners romance. I love both of these modes, and the transition was done exceptionally well.
