This book is informative on the German culture and provides vocabulary you would likely need on a daily basis while visiting or living in Germany. However, there are also quite a few typos, which in a fully-English book is a bit of a nuisance but mostly easy to ignore, but in a book where you're learning a foreign language can be quite problematic since it makes it difficult to know if the German words and sentences provided are written correctly or not.

This is my favorite book in the series thus far! It feels weird to say that because it's the shortest book in the series and there are so few characters we follow for most of the book, but I really enjoyed it! I loved Nesrin's character and, of course, there was a dragon, so this was great for me. I loved the relationship between Nesrin and Doost, watching them grow closer and just imagining them trying to communicate when they don't speak the same language and one of them is a dragon. So much fun, definitely recommend!

If you're looking for a book that is historically accurate, this is not the book for you. If you want a book that is fun, often humorous, set in an alternate historical world, and also includes fantasy elements, then I would highly recommend this book!

This is a really cute story of two unlikely friends and their imaginary world of Terabithia. It is also rather heart-wrenching, but I feel like it was handled really well. As a warning, there are some curse words sprinkled throughout, so use your own discretion in regards to kids reading it. This may be one to read to your kids aloud so you can censor it yourself as you read, or have them wait until they're older to read on their own.

The Enchanted Crown is a great conclusion to the series! I loved seeing all the characters from the previous books come together, plus all the new characters we get to meet. This book has some twists and turns that keep you guessing how everything is going to work out along with various revelations that really bring things laid out in the earlier books together.

I really feel like this is the strongest book in the series. The characters really came into their own in this one. I also really appreciated the author's exploration of grief and depression. The execution was very believable and I really felt for the characters, both the one affected by it and the ones around her who are trying to help but don't know what to do.

If you enjoy fantasy retellings, especially those that are more on the fun and lighthearted side, and stories about royalty and various kingdoms, I would highly recommend this series!
