This was a fun, fairly light read. It does hit on some harder topics including adoption, abandonment, and family relations in less-than-ideal situations, but was also still a fun Christian romance to read. I appreciated that this book dug a bit deeper into the hard topics than many other Christian fiction books I've read, even if it did still focus on the everyone-getting-what-they-want-at-the-end because this is meant as a fluffy contemporary romance. I also don't usually like the trope of miscommunication or withholding secrets, but the way it was handled in this book felt a lot more realistic to me, and I appreciated that the characters were at least trying to communicate even though they were often interrupted by outside problems.
This was a really cute story, dealing with death, grief, and friendship in a way that's light and endearing. Highly recommend!
