Despite the fact that this book was written in the '90s (which often turns people off from reading "dated" parenting books), the information in this book is still very relevant today. Cloud and Townsend focus on raising our children based on building character and instilling morals and values. Even in our technology-heavy world today, we still strive to instill our children with the morals and values we deem important and to bring them up with the type of character that we feel is important for them in the adult world, and the ways in which we can do that is the focus and drive of this book.

This was a really fun story. I loved Harry Dresden's sense of humor, which was funny without being over-the-top. The plot was constantly moving and most of the book was very action-packed, keeping me on the edge of my seat the whole way. And I loved Bob the Skull. You'll have to read the book to understand that one.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and feel that it completely surpasses the previous book, 2001: A Space Odyssey. The writing style is immensely better and the plot doesn't drag on as much as it did in 2001. 2001 consistently had long scenes that went on and on, or numerous sequential scenes in which not much seemed to happen.
Not with this book. The plot is continually moving, adding more action and intensity to the situation, and there are numerous characters (both American and Russian this time) who add a lot of variety and personality as well. The book also answers a lot of the questions we're left with at the end of 2001 while still leaving me scratching my head at the end and wanting more. If you've read 2001 and haven't gotten to this one yet, I highly recommend you do.
