This is my first of the Rizzoli & Isles novels (love the show), and it was a great start, easily read in two sittings.
Though it seems to have some trouble truly feeling as though the plot is moving forward, the characterization and detail more than makes up for it. Gerritsen's writing when it comes to the reality of working in the morgue is fascinating; an autopsy is written about from start to finish, in gory detail.
In addition, she does a fantastic job at setting the mood and tone for a book taking place during a Boston winter. I could practically feel the chill as I read.
