When Fables is good, it's very, very good.
When Fables gets off track or adds extra story lines, I want to throw it across the room.

Eeehhhh, nothing super exciting, but nothing horrible, either.
A so-so story about a frustrated teenager who suddenly has fantastical things start to happen to her. I actually liked the first two issues that focus on the boring teenage stuff; it was realistic without going overboard as other writers tend to do with teens (especially in TV).
It could have used a few more issues instead of just four, as well. There wasn't enough time for any reveals or the ending to have any true impact.

One of the best books of the year. Fraction takes Hawkeye, removes him from the high stakes world of the Avengers, and works on a sort of day in the life theme with Clint. Hawkeye is always going to be a bit of a silly character (I do love the purple tunic), but Fraction makes that work here, exploring that silliness even while dropping Clint into a much more realistic setting. So many aspects of Clint's character are explored here, in stories that break superhero comic book storytelling conventions.
It's a superhero book that reads like it isn't, and it's fucking fantastic.
Plus, Kate Bishop. You can't go wrong with Katie.
