Colleen Hoover has done it again. I'm making my way through her books, and this is easily top 3 for me. Miles and Tate are just... ugh. I didn't expect Miles' backstory, and it's so gut wrenching and heartbreaking but I am so glad he found love with Tate. I knew it would be hard to resist and I was right. This definitely lived up to the hype. The coolest part might just be that these two (and Ian) make an appearance in November 9. CoHo, you tricky minx!

This is one of my faves from Christina Lauren. I don't think it's as good as The Soulmate Equation or some others, but definitely better than some. I really enjoyed Olive and Ethan's banter and the back and forth about how much they hated each other. The premise was also super intriguing and fun! It started out really strong and then sort of fizzles out during the back half (i.e. the drama with Dane and Olive and Dane and Ami) but it was overall very good. I also liked that Olive was described as "curvier" as you don't often read that, but I also think that was a point of contention for her in the book - she cared entirely TOO much about what Ethan thought about her body and it took away a little bit from them as a couple. However, I thought this was a really fun read!

Easily her BEST yet and better than It Ends With Us. This story was so amazing - tragic, heartbreaking, gut wrenching, tear inducing, BEAUTIFUL. I finished this and immediately had to call my mom just to hear her voice. I can't imagine what Kenna must have felt. The guilt. The fears. The anger. The hurt. She was such a strong, fierce and determined character and I loved that about her. She wanted to turn her life around after repenting for her mistakes, for serving prison time for her mistakes. That alone made me root for her because she truly did not expect nor want handouts.

A mother's fight for her child was so real in this - not only Kenna's fight for Diem, but Grace's fight for Scotty, and even Ledger's mother when the time came. It just tugged on my heart strings and there were SEVERAL moments in which I shed copious amounts of tears, especially the part where Kenna sees Grace and says, "I get to meet her?" And the meeting in which Kenna DOES meet Diem, and Diem doesn't think it as monumental as Kenna does... that was so beautiful and on point.

And also, can we talk about Ledger?! Like, HELLO. He is the blueprint. Loyal to his friends and family. A family man who takes responsibility for helping to raise a child that isn't his, but who he literally says he loves as his own, and loves her equally as he does his own (future) children. The way in which he helps Kenna, providing her love and support when no one else will. He helps facilitate her finally getting to meet her daughter and I just... wow. He's perfect. The moment when he tells Kenna that the reason he never explicitly complimented her looks was because he was reading books about feminism and he always made sure to compliment Diem on more than her looks was just *chef's kiss*. I WISH I had a Ledger.

I truly believe and stand by the fact that CoHo really outdid herself with this one and it is her best work yet. I cannot stop thinking about this book and all that it entails and it will be hard for me to get into another book like this because I don't think anything can top it. Seriously.

I did enjoy this and it was a cute little quick read to pass time, but I wish Carson and Bmake wouldn't have gotten together so quickly. It seemed so rushed and given the length of the book, that's definitely the case. This had the potential to be so much more, and I would have enjoyed that.

Super cute read

I definitely thought this was super cute and I loved the story. However, I wish there was... more? I didn't feel as much chemistry from the main characters as I would have liked. It certainly had potential. All in all, I did enjoy it!

Some of the things they did to each other were MEAN, and not funny joke pranks like it seemed it would be. Also, the entire book could have been avoided if they had just TALKED to each other about their feelings and why they were unhappy and hesitant to get married? Also, we didn't get a scene of them discussing how they would avoid going down the same path in the future. They just loved happily ever after, forgetting that they once were in love, hated each other and tried to get the other one to break up first, then back to love. Not exactly realistic. That pretty much sums it up.

This is honestly one of CoHo's best books and it pains me that it doesn't get the recognition that her other, more popular books do. Samson and Beyah have such a wonderful relationship and it's clear they are each other's person. I also love the supporting characters; her sister, her sister's boyfriend, PJ, her dad, even her mom, because they lend something to the story and help Beyah in her journey to finding herself. This book does cover some interesting topics, like drugs, child abuse, father abandons child, mentions of assault, etc. I just adore this book SO MUCH and it is such a summer beach read, with all the fluff and angst and beauty and pain one can have.

And can we talk about that ending? I'll try not to spoil it but her going to college, him getting out and seeing her and immediately asking, then kissing her and the job she eventually pursues? And the relationships she builds and the life she finds? Her happily ever after? Like??? Everything was just so perfect.

This is every bit as amazing as I thought it would be. The love story spanning over a decade between Eva and Shane was heartbreaking, tragic and beautiful.

These two had such hard childhoods that they were were lucky to be alive. I can't imagine going through what they both did and the courage it took to break the cycle. I loved the supporting characters (Audre, my girl; CeCe, Ty, Belinda, Troy, Lizette). The mark of a truly great author is the ability to make you love the main characters but also the side characters in the world. It was so well written with some AMAZING lines and I'm just blown away by Williams's ability to take my breath away with some of her lines. They made me FEEL and I adored that.

Eva's disability was so remarkably similar to my own and I just FELT for her. I know that pain and that struggle and the need to just numb it all out and try to find a way to cope. It really resonated with me, in the best and worst possible ways. For her to have Shane as support was everything.

I do think the book should have some trigger warnings. It didn't bother me, but I can definitely see how others may be affected. Some were: drugs, abuse, self harm, suicide, violence, sexual assault, alcoholism, etc. Please be mindful of those things when reading as they are heavy, prominent themes throughout this book.

I honestly wasn't sure about this, not because I thought it wasn't good, but because it definitely isn't my usual read. I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm pretty much exclusively a modern day romance reader, so a romance set in B.C. Greece with heavy mythology influences was not even remotely on my radar. However, after hearing so many good things about this book, I thought, why not?

Boy, am I glad I read it!!! It is every bit as amazing as people said it would be. While a little tough to get into, it really picked up after the first few chapters and it was the most epic heartbreaking, beautiful love story I have ever read. The love between Achilles and Patroclus was poetic, literally. Patroclus even says "he is half of my soul, as the poets say" and man, if that isn't so true. There are just so many good lines and it is so well written that I cannot believe this is the author's debut novel.

Yes, it is a gay love story. However, men having male lovers back in this time was certainly not uncommon, so keep that in mind. Regardless of your feelings about gay love stories, that part, at least, is historically accurate. Now, it's debatable whether or not Achilles and Patroclus were actually lovers/in love (some say they were, some say they were just comrades or best friends) but men sleeping with men and women was a common occurrence during this time. I loved reading about all of the historically accurate characters (Helen, Athena, Achilles, etc.) and Greek mythology as a whole. You can tell the author is well educated and informed, despite this largely being fiction.

I sobbed at the end (if you know, you know) and I'm so in love with this book. I wish I wouldn't have waited so long to read it. It's definitely worth the hype!

I think this was a decent follow up to the first book, but it was mainly Calla whining and complaining until about the 75% mark. Once again, absolutely no smut except implied. The best part was hands down the proposal and that was what I was looking forward to the most. I did love seeing all the monthly glimpses into their lives as they tried to navigate their journey, and the reappearance of many supporting characters, as well as the introduction of new characters to grow to love. All in all, a decent sequel but it still felt lacking to me.
