This has been one of the hardest of the series to get through. The story line is moving very slowly. I almost gave up on the series during this book.
There is enough of a good story line to get you trough the book as want more. I understand why the author had to split the book in two. All through this book I was wondering about the other storyline and I am anxious to discover them in the next book. But taking a GOT break for a few other books.

The illustrations in this book are absolutely hilarious. Good story about finding your place in the world. Lester's books of list are just what kids would do. The facial expressions throughout the book add to the feel of the story. Especially Lester's parents.
Cute story and well written. I could actually see a middle school-er writing this story.
My first Diary of a Wimpy Kid book. Personally, I find the main character to be selfish and not very likeable. Not likely to read another.
For as much as I loved Wonder, I feel that the Julian chapter fell short. It seems almost as if it was written quickly to get it out there. It's an attempt to make us feel better about the Julian character, and in hopes that the reader gets satisfaction that Julian has a revelation about his behavior and feels somewhat guilt-ridden, I feel that it just wasn't believeable.
Way better than the Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Read this because it is on my daughters Battle of the Books list. Thought it might be too much like the Diary books, but I like the format of this better. The illustrations are well done and I like the comic book style. Characters are good.
I love Raina's novels. They are highly relatable to the target audience. And the illustrations really shine.
