So incredibly funny! Douglas Adams level humor. So many times I caught myself laughing out loud or leaning to my partner to read passages, which I never do. I think if you come into this book expecting "Legends and Lattes", you'll probably be disappointed. This lampoons L&L in the best possible way, remaining cozy and small, but it is absurdly goofy and I can see how that would turn off people who come to this only to be wrapped up in a warm blanket of words. Those people need to take a breath and get over their disappointment, because they are really missing out.

What a triumph of a duology! It is a wonder how T Kingfisher made abject horror and fast-paced action somehow... comfortable? Comforting even? To know that our flaws and our strengths build together to make a beautiful being, even if we are a side character in our own story sometimes, is the source of power in this tale. Belonging gives us power.

I LOVED this audiobook! I loved the book, and this was a worthy companion to it. The narrator's voice is so soothing and perfect, I think I'd be comfortable recommending both this and the print version in equal measure.
