Horror isn't my genre but I appreciate it for what it is and how it pushes art forward. And this. THIS book does something incredible. It makes me excited to read horror. It makes me interested in exploring more horror. Not only is it a gateway drug, but it simply doesn't stop until you're left breathless and high from the three stories you just ran through. It's a hell of a good book.

The surprised gasps to page ratio was about 1 to 4. I think that makes this one of the most gasps for your buck books out there. It's incredible! (And sexy. It's a sexy and fucked up book. It's so good.)

This is probably deserving of the 5 stars, but my heavy heart is getting in the way of me giving it anything more a 4 because, well... spoilers. IYKYK. Gwendolyn and Sophie continue to grow and kick ass. Our main familial unit also continues to grow, and kick existential ass. And although I doubted her character as a fit for our main cast, Petrichor has really grown on me.

Our family continues to fight the odds and the universe and their own insecurities to find their way home. I wasn't expecting to give any book in the series 4 stars, frankly. But the exit/replacement of a character was less than what they deserved, and that ending- like something off the Open Circuit, amirite Saga fans? Shout out to my girl Noreen; I hope I grow up to be like you someday.
