This book is very detailed. That is both its strength and its weakness. This isn’t a book that is good for readers looking to jump into the subject with little background. However, if you have familiarity already, it is a very thorough deep dive.

I turned to get past the writing style, and while there’s nothing specifically wrong with it, it wasn’t for me.

This is a sweeping historical narrative of the Native Americans and specifically their ongoing relationship with the United States. Highly recommend to anyone interested in indigenous and US history.

While the author’s political biases are often on full display, his research is deep and the scope of the book is wide. There was a great deal about the radical underground movement that began in the 1960’s that I learned for the first time in Days of Rage. Highly recommend it anyone looking to learn more about this often overlooked chapter in American political history.
