I couldn't wait for this book to fall into my grubby little hands but once I actually got it...?
ugh. My hopes and dreams came crashing down.
Newsflesh felt like rereading one of the previous books, and the same plot lines without the attachment of knowing the characters. Oh, and the characters...ayiyi. It's like the author tried to shove as much PC down our throats as possible.
Trrrrrrain. Wreck.
I'm so sad.

I really wanted to like this book. It starts in a small town, which is cursed, of course. They have their own pet reanimated witch from the 1800's that just randomly shows up places (like inside your HOUSE) and just stands there. Add in that she has her mouth and eyes sewn shut. There are rules. You don't talk to the witch, touch the witch and once you live there, you literally can't even leave. All pretty creepy right?

The townspeople are all puritanical in their punishment of breaking the rules. The teenagers are a bunch of sadistic future serial killers soooo, they obviously end up breaking the rules and the whole town goes to hell in a hand basket. This witch has just been waiting for such a moment.

Then it just gets weird. Like, stupid weird.

Honestly, at that point, I skimmed the last chapter. There are weird hallucinations, or maybe they are real.
Hell, who knows but they seem to involve...pate.
