I had no expectations when I started this book, I just knew I wanted a peek behind the curtain into what it takes to be a nanny to the 1%. This book blew my mind, it covered a few deep rooted issues while staying very light. It was well written I felt like I was talking to an old friend and just catching up. She tied her life story into everything very well and it was interesting to see the differences of her upbringing and the kids she nannied for.

If I had to sum this book up in one word it would be Disappointment.
I thought this book sounded like the perfect October Read, but unfortunately it fell very short in my eyes. I struggled to finish this book but I pushed through because I did want to see how everything came together at the end, though I kind of wish I had just left it up to my imagination bc the ending pissed me all the way off.

This was a wild journey, every time I thought I got close to figuring out what the actual hell was going on I realized how far off I was. Definitely a trust the journey kind of book because it didn't disappoint.
The personalities in this book were so Hard to deal with but it gives alot to the story as you slowly realize how deep the Narcissism runs with some of the characters.
My Biggest issue with this book does happen towards the ending, it seems to slow the pace down to a crawl and didn't fit with the rest of the book. But I stuck through it and the Actual ending was absolute Perfection. I will be thinking about it for days to come. My favorite part of this book is that the Clues for the twists and turns are literally in the pages in front of you, you just have to be paying enough attention to catch them. And I LOVE being able to piece the clues together as I read through a book, even if I am wrong more the 80% of the time.
My biggest issue with this book was what happens after Hazel goes to the compound to find Evie. It seemed to not fit the flow of the rest of the book well and while I liked the Cult aspect of it all the little cult details seemed a waste. It was like trying to add a whole other layer onto a practically finished book. Instead of showing Evie growing it felt like we saw her fall back into old patterns. I mean she was being surveilled in her old 'family' home to move into a cult compound and is STILL being surveilled but by different people this time, like girl come on *eyeroll*.
BUT
the actual finale, Two years later, MY GOD, this might be one of my favorite conclusions to a book ever. Evie flipping the script on Hazel and showing on TV that Hazel is As Big As a Narcissist as their Mother. The SABI reveal, literally left me screaming 'I WAS RIGHT'.

I really want to be friends with Ellie and Stacy. I think they are very well written and I love watching as they grow and start becoming friends, Ellie helping Stacy pick out a date outfit was so fucking funny bc you know Ellie doesnt have fashion sense.
Another Good Story from JL Bryan. I really enjoy how the ghost hunting is the main story line and how he manages to make it feel so real and anxiety inducing. These ghosts this time were NOT fucking around.
