I enjoyed this a lot, it came together really well but I felt the conclusion was a little rushed. Probably gonna check out the other books in the series while I'm at it.

I liked this better than the first one, honestly. More cosmic abominations and fucked up body horror. Fun and punchy and better at working with multiple narrators. Excited for the next one!

While I didn't agree with all of the concepts in this book, the premise was really interesting and the slow crawl of the changes in the rifters was extremely interesting. The twist was solid and the world building was very thorough without being overwhelming with exposition.

This was a raw and devastating book. A very respectful case study of trauma and recovery and how hard of a process it can be. It successfully avoided being gratuitous and conveyed the horror and trauma of cults without feeling voyeuristic. The ending left me feeling like my nerves were frayed, an overwhelming yet poignant conclusion.

Definitely one of the better anthologies I've read this year and I enjoyed the vast majority of the short stories. I think the roster was very carefully cultivated and I felt the editors did a great job of selecting the pieces.

Extremely heartfelt and equally gory, everything a horror fan could've wanted. Full of twists and turns and the miserable loneliness of a traumatized teenager.

This book had some really good moments and then it also had some moments where I wanted to grab Nick Cutter by the shoulders and shake him vigorously while saying STOP TRYING TO BE STEPHEN KING. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

One of the better short story collections I've read this year. Most of the stories were inventive takes on the vampire mythos and offered me a good list of writers to look into further down the line.

Didn't like this as much as I wanted to. The cosmic horror aspect hit and the world building with the angels was fun but the 2 different timelines were a bit tedious. Also weirdly sanitized portrayal of 1977 New York like the author didn't do any kind of research at all.

Absolutely drew me in and would not let me go until I finished it, frenetic and feverish, full of the spiralling dread and divine bliss of losing touch with reality. Expertly crafted and surprisingly coherent even with the descent into psychosis.
