It began so well. The opening was a delectable mystery, and I realized I was starving form the moment I read the first page. However as I progressed I realized that the book was not what I had thought. It was entertaining, however I wanted it to be so much more.
My guilty love for the Percy Jackson books continues. It was nice to see the focus on Annabeth in this story. I hope Mr. Riordan continues to strengthen her already powerful character.
Oliver Sacks does a wonderful job blending story telling with science in this thought provoking piece. His relations to the patients in the novel, and his own struggles with hallucinations makes the book all the more enjoyable. It is wonderfully written and highly informative.
You begin to read this novel after seeing I have given it a five star rating. You will be enlightened, enthralled, and enchanted. You soon realize this will be one of your favorite novels. You realize that this novel is more then a mere book. It is a life changer.
This book is not for you...
I would recommend this book to very few people, and those who I did dare to read it Im sure would not finish it. This book is an enigma, following three story layers that bleed into one another. The story lines alone are a tangled maze. The real labyrinth of this novels stems from the fact that things are written upside down, backwards, to the left, to the right, to be read in mirrors, in three fonts, in braille, in German, falsely, truly, in red, in blue, and any other possible combination of confusion. This book is the hardest thing I have ever attempted to read. If you feel as though you are up to the challenge, by all means proceed. From page one, the novel will leave you wandering...

20 pages in and I have given up. This book was not quite what I wanted. I picked it up after having finished House of Leaves and loving it with great optimism. Much to my dismay, the simple writing that made House of Leaves understandable (after all thing were written all other the place physically and metaphorically) was not in Only Revolutions. I'm disappointed to say the least.
