This book created a good picture behind the scenes of a geisha. You understood her joys/sorrows throughout her life.

OH MY GOD!! This book became horrific and showed how individuals can dramatically become uncivilized in situations. I had to remind myself sometimes that these acts were done by children. Morals and ethics were thrown out and the social atmosphere changed.

This book was a fabulous epic story. It always had me guessing what would happen next. The book is long, but worth the read.
