This was everything I had hoped for in a Sarah J. Maas book. Magic, mythical beings, mystery, SEX. I cannot wait for the other books in the series to find out what will happen next.

The romance was a bit too cheesy for me and kind of pulled me out of the story anytime there was a kissing or potential kissing scene, but I liked the overall plot and the idea behind the story. I just wish the romance hadn't been as cheesy as it was. It almost felt like a high schooler was writing the romance. This is coming from a perpetually-single 26-year-old who struggles with writing romance. If I'm saying that, it's bad.
