This is yet another DNF for me this year. The writing isn't great, the characters aren't pulling me in, and the constant jumping around in time is way too confusing for me. I was excited by the plot idea and just wish it had pulled me in more.

I read this because of the new Netflix adaptation that's coming and I was...not impressed. Parts of it were interesting so I'm excited to see The Haunting of Bly Manor, but the novella left me confused and not very satisfied.
