Honestly... A good distraction but very mid. Pretty predictable. I will be rounding up to three stars just for the fact that the roles were reversed (the MMC was timid and sweet and the FMC was feral and overprotective). The writing was nothing special, and there was almost no spice (which is totally fine!)

First off, I love the dedication:
To those whose fury is fueled by both rage and love, Burn them all.
Great, really good. However the TWs include self harm and I can't really deal with that. So sorry.

A really fun, cute, great small town paranormal romance. And, bonus, written by authors local to me??? YESSSSS.

Hmm. Gonna have to think on my review and circle back in a sec.

A really fun nonfiction book! I think Bill Schutt is right up there with Mary Roach.

Generally- an inoffensive fun book if you want some Scooby Type Shenanigans with adults. My heebies were jeebied and I liked watching everyone come back together and grow and develop.
More Specifically-
The  bad guy's "why not" reasoning about summoning the apocalypse... Wasn't super compelling? Like just. He had no reason to try this hard for this long other than "why not"??
The atmosphere created and written was really well done and yes, my heebies were jeebied.
Also the dog lives, which is all I could ever really want.
