Definitely not my favorite in the trilogy but I'm happy with the way it ended and I'm sad it's over. I really came to love most of the characters, Nikolai easily being one my personal favorites, even Mal grated my nerves a little less than usual. While I enjoyed the plot and there was a ton of action, it felt really basic for a finale.
Well...I have thoughts. It definitely had the cozy, witchy vibe that was promised and I thought the recipes included were such a cute touch. I fell in love with Gigi and when *it* happened I definitely bawled my eyes out. The theme of grief, losing someone in more ways than one, was really well done and relatable. To be honest, I thought it was slow getting to the turning point in the story and I didn't particularly care for the romance, but I thought this was a great debut.
Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this eARC!
This was a fun, quick, light read. Sage and Ryland had a sweet dynamic, it was so easy to root for them! I haven't read many grumpy/sunshine tropes, but this was done so well! All of the characters were extremely likeable, Sage was hilarious, the banter was witty. Super enjoyable and lighthearted!

This was hilariously bad and incredibly dumb. This could've been so good and I definitely thought I finally found a thriller that I would actually enjoy...hahahahaha. for college students they act like high school students... actually, worse than that. Jade...girlie, come on. I know you're pissed about Silas and Lainey but get a grip and move on PLEASE. The detective work was laughable and apparently someone was smoking meth??? Of all the drugs to choose from...the author chose METH for a college student. Also, the writing gave me the impression of someone trying to imitate a college student and getting it absolutely wrong.
At first, I wasn't into it but once I actually gave it a chance I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's definitely for certain readers, especially those who like strange writing and weird plots with a little bit of an eerie edge to it. There were moments I wasn't exactly sure what was going on but I think it tied up well in the end, despite a fairly predictable outcome. 3.5 rounded up.
I was scared to read this because I read Shadowhunters a long time ago and absolutely hated the entire series, so I wrote off Cassandra Clare. However, I think I may be invested in this new series. I loved the characters, I loved the magic, and I loved the little mysteries. The Luisa bit pissed me off and the Mariam bit had me anxious and worrying. I heard this was a rip off of V.E. Schwab and tbh I wouldn't know, I don't read that author, but if so that's pretty disappointing. I hope not- I really want to continue this series!!
Honestly...I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting...not this?? I didn't really feel the spark between Macy and Elliot, some of their childhood flashbacks were kind of cringe, and WHY did the authors write the Elliot/Emma scene that way? It's giving gross. I just...no. The fluff was cute and thats why I'm giving it 3.
This paranormal thriller was *chefs kiss*. First of all, I wasn't expecting to be scared shitless like I am now, but ohhh this got me so good. Secrets, deception, murder, and possession? An absolute smorgasbord of fantastic elements. This does have mentions of death/trauma so I want to give a trigger warning for that, but I definitely enjoyed this ride.
This is the second book I've read by Katie and it was absolutely fantastic. She writes her story and characters in such a believable and relatable way and you get easily attached to them. I loved watching Natalie and Teagan fall in love and I loved how Teagan did his best to prove his love to Natalie in every possible way, knowing what she went through. This made me tear up big time. I'm so happy that this didn't have a lot of spice but the spice it did have was stellar.
