I hate it when a book has the prettiest cover and the plot is the most boring thing to exist. I was so ready for this!! Steampunk inspired?? Let's go!! But unfortunately, the story just wasn't the greatest. The characters, story, and descriptions were often flat and boring and left much to be desired. I was pulled out of the story so much by simply trying to force myself to imagine this world.

While I liked both Sirena and Gus and thought this was a cozy, cute, and quick read that provides a great autumnal ambience, this was ultimately just okay. I don't particularly find myself gravitating to friends to lovers, paranormal romance, or anything that has to do with time loops.

I think the art, as usual, was absolutely amazing. It was so stinking cute and the dragons were adorable. The story itself was sweet but okay. Being as short as it was, there wasn't enough meat to it for me to give it anything other than sweet and okay. I loved the different dragons and their teas and their little "about thems" at the end it was a nice touch.

I'm actually pretty disappointed with this one because I had such high hopes. I can't tell y'all enough how this had the prettiest and most vibrant and unique illustrations in any book I've read. From the cover, to the hardback, to the art inside it's gorgeous. That being said, the story is a bit lackluster. I didn't particularly care for any characters, the town itself sounded interesting, and I like the writing. It's just...so many unnecessary conversations, scenes that dragged on, and I thought I was going to get a more paranormal story and what I ended up getting was much different and it threw me off.

Sweet illustrations of the forest and it's animals! A hare and a fox being besties is adorable. It's a kids picture book but sometimes you just need a simple palate cleanser in between books and this gave me something to put myself in the winter vibes while being unserious and fun.

I thinks it's a super cute, feel good Christmas story for kids (or adults that want to give the brain a break!) and the illustrations were cute and it was a good representation of not leaving anyone out and friends helping friends. It's just a little story that would be good to read before your family picked out their tree or as they were setting it up!

Heather Fawcett found a way to put a unique twist on the boarding school aesthetic in stories and I'm here for it. Magicians, beasts, dragons, and... Zombies?? There's a possible crime aspect in this, there's looking into family backgrounds and unraveling mysteries and it's all tied together with humor and fantastic characters.

Christmas romances are never my favorites so I all I expected was good, sweet fluff and some warm cozy vibes which definitely delivered! It didn't completely deliver on the cheesy Hallmark feeling which I don't mind but I definitely didn't care for the weird little love triangle that was going on. That being said, coworkers trying to save a bookstore for Christmas was a run ride. 3.75 stars!

There was more to the story in this one! The first book didn't have much meat but was still sweet, this one definitely had more of a plot but the story was weak. That being said, I think the strengths lie in the characters. The diversity is refreshing, with hard of hearing, POC, and genderqueer characters. The dragons are the absolute cutest and I LOVE the little info pages on them at the end. While the stories lack in the series, other aspects make up greatly for it.
