Bewildered.
How can I say I liked a book about a fictional description of a older male teacher grooming a 15 year old student? While there are quite graphic depictions of sexual assault which are quite jarring, I feel like this ended the way I really needed it to. That’s why I can say that I liked it. This book is truly like holding Vanessa’s hand and being witness to her trauma and unraveling and understanding. This book will NOT be for everyone. But, this author wrote a damn good novel.

Very cute
A modern Little Women retelling? Yes, please! Jo in NYC as a line cook and food blogger. Meg as a stay at home mom who used to work at a bank… Trey as Laurie… Amy as a fashion consultant in Paris and Beth -ALIVE- writing music with famous country singers?
I wasn’t really into it until Jo finally got with Eric and then it was heart eyes and sappy grins until the end. A light hearted read that puts me in the mood for the follow up

I honestly didn’t expect to love this book like I did. And, really, as smutty as it was at times (I love the smut), this book went hard on healthy emotions, setting boundaries, and communication in relationships. I’ve never read a better depiction of setting boundaries with parents and how hard that can be. I loved the depiction of a man who was vulnerable and recognized his need for affirmation, acceptance, love and recognizing fears. I don’t need chiseled; I just need real vulnerability
Magical.
I so loved this world. I loved the symbolism. I loved the power and beauty. I can’t wait to read the second one!
