I’m never let down when I read a Jenn Bennett contemporary so my expectations were pretty high when I started Chasing Lucky! And luckily, it was just as awesome as all her other contemporaries!
I really liked Josie and being in her head. She had an interesting back story with her secretive mom. Also, as a side note, I’d like a book on Josie’s mom! Anyway, Josie was a photographer and I connected to her right away!
Lucky was the most adorable little thing ever. He has baggage and I wanted to give him a hug. I really liked his connection with Josie and when they were on the pages together, they lit them up!
Bennett writes the best dialogue and banter and I just want her to write contemporaries forever!

I honestly didn’t know this book existed until a friend of mine posted the book! And thank goodness I saw it because I loved it so much!
Kit was such an awesome character. She was strong-willed, determined, caring and an awesome young woman for girls to look up to!
I also loved Mercy and Hannah! Oh and Nat, my lovely Nat! And John! So many wonderful characters!
The writing in this was well done and I normally don’t read historical things, but witch accusations have always interested me because at that time back then things could be frightening really. Anyone could be accused.
Overall this story was wonderful with great characters and so much more!

I loved this story! Julien just knows how to grab a reader’s attention and not let go until the very end! And even then, I want more of her writing! The descriptions were so wonderfully done!
Graphic novels are always iffy for me because I feel like I need more, but I really like this one! Especially the carnival setting!
The drawings were also beautiful and easy to follow along with the sometimes-heartbreaking story of these conjoined twins.
I also loved getting to see the carnival acts as well as the emotion between sisters, etc. There was prejudice involved from some of the people that would see the acts but who really got the last laugh because those customers were out money? Very cute and touching graphic novel!

Holy toledo! This book was so freaking addicting! I especially loved the world that was created here, even though it was a super dark one!
Damen is in a crap hole of a mess because of his half brother making himself king after letting everyone believe Damen is dead! Damen is now a slave in his enemy country where he can’t reveal who he really is because he risks getting killed.
Laurent is a real something. I don’t know what exactly but I loved him! There was a lot of shocking moments that even had me raising my eyebrows! But I just couldn't put this one down! I’m seriously yearning for book 2!

After book one, I had to dive straight into this bad boy. And seriously, it was even better than Captive Prince!
Damen, I love you! And Laurent, you have my heart! My sweet, sweet boys! The tension and angst between these two was perfect and on fire!
There were twists and betrayals and awesomeness and sadness and a lot of me with my eyes wide while reading!
Pacat has built an incredible world full of nightmares and treasures and I just need more! Can’t wait to read the last book!

This series is so much fun! And when I saw this title and this cover, I just knew it was going to be my favorite. I'm a huge Halloween fan and would seriously just like this holiday year round! Anyway, now that I'm going off course, let me get to my boy Kellan!
Kellan's life is full of so much drama and I love it! There's a ton of mystery to these stories, but what I like just as much is the family dynamic with the side characters. Kellan's such an awesome dad, and I've always wanted that bond he has with Nana D. Seriously, I want my own Nana D! Also, there is some awesome chemistry between April and Kellan in this one! They need to catch a break!
There was talk about Halloween costumes, food, and an entertaining mystery that needed to be solved! Can I also mention that this book had me at skeleton being found in the library! I literally finished this one in less than 24 hours because I wanted to know what was going on! Andddddddd of course there is a cliffhanger, so that leaves me yearning for the next book! Side note: can there just be a Netflix series on Kellan's mysteries? That would be amazing!

I've always liked the Home Alone movies—the first two anyway—and this was a really cool picture book that I'd loved to have had as a child! The drawings were super cute and the story followed the movie very well!
The story not only had fun things, but also life lessons such as with the lady with the birds! Definitely a great Christmas read! My only complaint is that I wish Tim Curry's character from the movie actually looked like Tim Curry!
