I love Kenji, he’s one of my favorite characters in the Shatter Me series. I was super excited to get these novellas from his point of view, but I feel kind of underwhelmed by them.
However, I have to admit that the ending of Reveal Me makes me super excited for the last installment in the series, [b:Imagine Me|44054122|Imagine Me (Shatter Me, #6)|Tahereh Mafi|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1563815428l/44054122._SY75_.jpg|56266825].

My pick for the Potions class - Shrinking Solution: book under 150 pages

4,5/5 —

This was a really great book. A bit slow sometimes, and I'm not very happy about the development of one particular character, but other than that, it was INCREDIBLE.
The battle scene at the end was epic. I might have forgotten to breathe a few times. And my heart did stop a couple of times too. Oops.
I appreciated that there was a lot of characters, moving together towards one goal. Of course they had their own storylines, but it was still very good and well put together.

I loved it.
Probably my second favorite of the entire TMI series, but it may or may not go down to the 3rd position, depending on my thoughts of [b:City of Heavenly Fire|25560303|City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6)|Cassandra Clare|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1431974906l/25560303._SY75_.jpg|13629068], which I'm going to read very very soon.

Amazing. Magnus Bane is such a fantastic character ! I loved discovering a little bit more about him and having a glimpse of his adventures.

That was a good read.
It was different from the previous books. The relationships were way more developed than everything, which resulted in less « action » in my opinion. I'm also really pleased of the new character additions in this book.

I enjoyed seeing a lot more of Simon, and this time on his own —and by « on his own », I mean not constantly paired up with Clary, with was starting to be a little annoying—. In this fourth book, Simon as his own plot line. We see him struggling with his identity: he's a vampire, moreover a daylighter, his friends are either shadowhunters, humans or werewolves. He doesn't befriend with vampires and he ends up feeling like he fits nowhere. He still wants to have a « normal » life, but he'll eventually learned that normal is not something possible for him anymore. This inner conflict he's facing is also represented in his « love life », through his relationship with Maia and Isabelle.

Jace and Simon started to befriend a little more, and let me just say that I'm all for this friendship. I loved seeing them together. Their interactions were always interesting and funny; and I feel like they started to respect each other way more than in the previous books. Yes, they are still bickering sometimes. But something changed in the way they saw each other. At least that's what I've felt.

If there's something I didn't enjoy however, it's the same mistakes that the characters are making over and over again. They never talk to each other, and it always end up bad. I'm not going to tell you I've never facepalmed myself reading this book, because that would be a lie, but yeah...
Clary was a tiny bit annoying sometimes. Like she said, if she had spoke up sooner, maybe none of this would have happened.

And finally: the villain.
Lilith was amazing. I didn't get if she was really dead or they thought she was dead, but she's evil and I loved it. Bringing back Sebastian was also really nice: he's a character that I love to hate, and I'm excited to see what will bring this new bond between him and Jace... Something not very good apparently, since this bond they have seem to be stronger then the one created by Lilith. This time, we see Jace conscious, but unable to fight it.
It's promising for the next part, but I'm bracing myself because I think it's going to break my little heart.

Overall, I enjoyed this reading. It was quite fast, interesting and I thought it gave a new perspective on some of the characters. There were quite a few plot-twits, and I would never have expected it to end like that.

I just closed the book and wow. It was one hell of a ride!
On one hand, I enjoyed it a lot. These characters are everything and I'm so happy we got to see so many of them!
However, I feel like there were some missed opportunities (*cough*Annabel*cough*), some shortcuts that were taken, and the ending was a bit... I don't know, underwhelming? Plus, there were some things that annoyed a little as well.

The more I'm thinking about this one, the less I feel happy ad content with it. I don't know. I guess my expectations were way too high. Still, it wasn't bad, not at all. It was definitely a page turner, intriguing, with loads of adventures, feelings, cute moments, heartbreaking moments, and everything I usually loooove, and loved in this book. Maybe it was just too much?

I might write something more coherent in the future. Right now, I need to process and think a bit more about this book!

Despite a slow start, it was still a solid, fast read. The second half of the book was way more interesting than the first, and the story really picked up from there. The plot-twist was predictable, but I did enjoy it better than I thought I would starting the book. It was also nice to see some of the characters we love —and love— from other series that Cassandra Clare has written in the past.

I love Magnus and Alec, as individuals and as a couple. It was nice seeing them in the early stages of their relationship as an official couple, on their first vacation. They were getting to know each other a bit more, being more vulnerable around the other, but also trying to fight some insecurities they both have. It was nice. There were some cute scenes, I love seeing them together, and how much they love each other.

However, I feel like this book is different from the others, probably because it covers a period of time between the other books already written. It doesn't bring something new in the way we know most of these characters' futures, and the emotional involvement is not really the same. That's maybe why I didn't connect as much with the book at the beginning.

I'm still curious and will definitely read the sequel. The end of the epilogue was so surprising, and yet, also logic. When we  first saw Ragnor in this book, I truly believed it was the moment that he came (?) back to life and not just Magnus' memories. It also explains why we saw him "later" on in a cave not far from the Los Angeles Institute, in the Dark Artifices series. I'm curious to see what will happen with/to him.
