I love this world, the characters, and The Infernal Devices is my favorite series out of the Shadowhunter universe, but there are a few things that are frustrating to me.
Henry is drawn like he's daft, simple-minded when he's actually really smart and a dreamer. He's not stupid, but in those illustrations, he looks like he is. The way he's drawn feels like he doesn't belong at all with all the other characters and it's annoying me.
Sophie's scar was described as awful in the books, and here it feels like it's just a scratch.
Another thing that's pretty off-putting is the lack of 'color' when it comes to hair. Charlotte and Sophie are both brown-haired women, and yet, the way they are drawn looks like they're blondes.
I don't know, I feel like only Tessa is allowed to be brown-haired. Maybe it's a way to put emphasis on her or something, but I don't think adding a bit of dark grey to show a darker hair-color will change a lot of things.
I know and understand that it's an adaptation, and not everything could be included in it. But even if it might not be that big of a deal to someone else but it matters to me.
On an other hand, I feel like I've been whining about it but I did really like the art. I think it suited the story pretty well, and the design of the dresses and the places was beautiful. This book was an enjoyable way to revisit the story and fall in love with the characters and the world once again. I liked how there was some quotes from the original material, how the story was flowing. It did felt a bit too fast, but that's understandable considering the format. I also loved having a couple of colored pages at the beginning, it was a nice touch.
I will definitely read the sequels, because I just can't get enough of this world and the characters.

Look, I tried. I liked the premise, liked the beginning enough to continue. But after putting it down for a bit, wanting to complete others books, I struggled to pick it back up and I was not invested in the story or the characters at all. I kept being bored, and that's never a good thing.
I don't DNF books that often (pretty much never), but I don't see the point of continuing reading this one to give it a low rating at the end. Feels like a waste of time, and somehow unfair.
Maybe I'm just not in the right state of mind and I should have read it at another time... I don't know. I know some of you might like/love it, but I guess it just didn't work out for me.
