I absolutely cannot stand the narration of this book. I flipped through to several later chapters (including some near the very end of the book) to see if it’d improve, but the main character seems to remain insufferable (derogatory) throughout.

This book is trying way too hard to be funny not just in every sentence, but also by adding a load of unnecessary babbling that adds nothing to the story at every ill conceived opportunity. Pity, since it’s been waiting on my shelf for four years.

One of the characters is a researcher who wants to "cure autism". I don't know where that is going but I don't feel like sticking around to find out.

I really like this, but I like the Netflix series more so I’m gonna wait to read the rest of the comic until the series is finished.

I just couldn't super get into this and after almost a week of not listening further I figure I might as well officially give up. I kinda already didn't love it after the prologue and first chapter, but I really wanted to give it a fair chance because I did find the set-up intriguing. Maybe I'll give the print version a shot at some point. I just can't keep all the many characters straight in my head, because my attention keeps wandering away from the audiobook.

Eh. Not in the mood for this right now. I’m all for unlikable protagonists but ugh. Maybe it’s worse as an audiobook, having to listen to him blather on.

I just kinda lost interest in this series. I'm gonna try the audiobook to finish the last book.

I haven’t had a great time with YA lately but wanted to give this a shot since I loved Tweet Cute when it came out.

I was super into the lost sibling plot but the book seems to be mainly focused on misunderstanding-based romantic drama and conflict between the sisters instead, which I just found tediously childish and can’t bear to listen to any longer. (Like, I’m begging the characters to attempt to communicate instead of assuming shit, y’know.)

All in all, this is not for me.

DNF @ Chapter 21. I really wanted to love this, having once pre-ordered the ebook (that then sat on my ereader for 3 years because I keep forgetting I can't stand to read first person). I just don't really care about the plot, and while Emil is a fun character, I don't find Brighton all that interesting, so there's not really enough to carry me through the book. Pity.

The audiobook narrator for Emil is great, I loved him in They Both Die At The End as well. That's pretty much the only thing I liked about the book, though.
