All books that describe people who aren't white as "exotic" automatically lose point for me. Cute, quick reads though, otherwise.

Not sure this is my thing sadly, the art and dialogue was fairly good, but I wasn't grabbed by the story

I'm waffling between 3 and 4 stars. Loved the action, the internal dilemma, and the end just about had me sobbing, but the beginning nearly lost me (I know I wouldn't DNF, but I struggled to push through it).

I don't know if I'd read this to my kid (who doesn't exist btw), but this is a good list of things for adults to keep in mind as well on a daily basis.

Some of the rhyming didn't jive for me, but definitely an important book.
