Slay!
So excited for book 2!
I forgot how good Ana Huang is at writing. While I did not like some of the Twisted Series books, I loved the writing styles of them all. I am super excited for the next book which is Isabella and Kai's book. I loved the chemistry between Dante and Vivian. It was electric. I still really hate Vivian's Dad, he is an ass. Her mom is less of an ass but still an ass.
This book is a standalone HEA, billionaire romance, arranged marriage, and THANK GOD NO CHEATING!
At first the book was extremely slow going but once it picked up I fell in love with the characters and the town. I love the small and big things that both Kyland and Tenleigh did for each other.
I loved the book people and the drama of the people's lives. I loved the relationships that are in play between the people in the book club. I am a lover of people discussing books and having opinions on books.
I at first did not like Nash and Lina but they grew on me for sure. I am super excited to read Lucian and Sloane's book in September! I am sad that Knockemout's stories are coming to a close soon.
I already loved the town of Pelion Lake in Archer's Voice and fell in love with the town again in this book. I love seeing inside Travis's head and his motivations for life. I enjoyed seeing him be redeemed as a better person, uncle, and brother than in Archer's Voice. I just love the town and Mia Sheridan's writing has this lyrical tone that drags you in, gets you emotional, and doesn't release you until the end.
I found this book very predictable to a fault. I feel like we were told too much at the beginning and then the ending was not a big shock. I think the plot twist was obvious and depressing but still obvious and a bit dull.
I liked the connected stories and the characters from the duologies both being present.
I loved the Hunger Games esc. plot along with the dynamics between Cala and August. While I was a bit confused in the beginning, once the game began it became clearer. I loved Chloe Gong's writing as always. I love how she creates political issues, drama, and conflict.
I can definitely see the aspects of Bonnie and Clyde. I loved Cyrus's character and how he kind of lives in the gray of the world. Not poor yet not rich either. I loved Ava and Shane due to their chemistry and the dumb stuff they get up to. Ava and Shane yelling at Jared for doing dumb things always cracked me up. I loved the thrills I got from their heists and the badassery that occurred in this book. Overall I loved the plot, characters, and vibes. I loved the easy to read writing style but, also how sometimes it didn't really feel like a young adult book. The characters and plot were sometimes just at a new adult fiction writing level which I loved. I loved the space plot, I feel that if it was set anywhere else it would be basic and boring. Almost like every other heist movie I have seen before and every heist book I've read before. The space element just added a new dynamic that was fun.
