Lynn Painter's books always just hit the spot for me because of how good her writing and character-building is. I just loved this romance so much.

I didn't fully like this book because of the frogs, like ew frogs. I did like how the town came together and handled the aftermath of Chester. Chester was a really odd person and yeah, he's a serial killer but he was an interesting one. What trauma in his past made it so his special serial killer trait was frogs, is he just seriously afraid of frogs or was he abused by frogs? They never really gave a backstory for him that explained all of this.

I did like the setting of the town because it felt very picturesque and quaint. I still think frogs in stomachs are weird and will probably get nightmares from that, but it really made the fact that he was a serial killer and messed up in the head more real to me. I do think that everyone in this book needs therapy including Isabel because she needs to figure out the root cause of her pulling her hair out constantly.
