DNF at 50%: I do not care about characters or the mystery. 

Couldn’t relate to or like the main character, also a little dark for my current mood

Fantasy does not work for me anymore 

Slow pacing, very character-driven 

Started promising, but too slow and not enough character development. 

This book has been hyped and marketed as “enthralling” but for me, it was lackluster. I was initially intrigued by the story, but I could not connect with the characters and I felt there was a lot of subplot that drew away from the “mystery.”
