The Ballad of Andrew Garfield is my favourite.
Highly recommend reading this to a friend while on video chat. It's how I first experienced this book and it was great.

I personally enjoyed Something Wonderful but I'm not sure I would read it to my children if I had any. But I do think this would make a nice book for children to read on their own when they start learning to read, especially when they are interested in nature.

This memoir tells the story of Hawthorne's mother Blanca more than his own story. It is about her abuse towards her son and their struggle in poverty. It is a very human story as in Hawthorne tries to show the nuance in each person, why they made the choices they did (and whether it really was a choice). No good and bad. Just the complicated relationship between Hawthorne and his mother. But Hawthorne does not downplay the abuse either. He knows she should not have done it but it happened.
The graphic novel is beautifully illustrated. I really liked how colours helped express certain emotions, especially anger.
Trigger warning for abuse.

For Every One is a letter for Every One. It is uplifting and comforting and, therefore, I can only say that you should read it if you have the chance.
