I fell in love and couldn't stop reading this book until the end.
This book is a really great love story but it also focusses on family and how Quinn moves on after her boyfriend died.
It also has a lot of information on what happens to the organs of a donor and provides information on the heart and receiving a donor organ which was very educational.

I feel like this is a "cheat love story" and in my opinion, those are not as good as other romance stories. I did like this book but the cheating element kept me from really enjoying it.

Welcome to Your Period! is a wonderful, inclusive guide for everyone, especially those who just started their period or will do so soon. But as an older bleeder, it was nice to read too.

The book covers it all: from the basics to what to use and covers (briefly) topics like period poverty and sustainability. The illustrations and the language are inclusive to all which is so important. Yumi Stynes and Dr Melissa Kang made an amazing book which normalizes periods and hopefully will make a new generation feel more informed and comfortable around their cycle.

I would really recommend this book to teens and young adults who just started having their periods.

I think reading this book right now, was the perfect timing to read it (see Ariel Bisset's video "Reading a Book at the Perfect Time)
Although, Elise (The Bookish Actress)'s review made me wonder if the book is biphobic. She makes a very solid point and I wonder why I didn't notice it. see here
Still, I enjoyed it a lot. But I hope I am not ignorant about something so please share your opinions with me.

4.5 stars!

What a conclusion to the trilogy. I loved this trilogy overall with its politics and elemental magic.

In Ember Queen, the third and final instalment of the Ash Princess trilogy, the suspense is high from the start. I loved the plotting and scheming about taking over the Water Mine! I was literally on the edge of my seat until the team was back together.

The stakes were high and that is represented by all our faves getting wounded, stabbed, burned and maimed. But it just shows how high the stakes were and that it was not easy.

The only thing I did not like as much was the velastra, a chemical gas from Spiritgems that literally takes away a person's will, making them essentially puppets. While this increased the stakes, for me personally, it did not add much and felt odd within the magic system presented in the first two books. I honestly feel like you could cut it out entirely and the book wouldn't be worse for it. Also, I don't think that Cress as Kaiserin only knew the recipe for making it so Theodosia would have to deal with it but it was not mentioned again at all.

Overall, I would have liked some more tie-ins in the epilogue about what the other characters would do. How Soren would be as an ambassador, what Artemisia, Heron and Erik would be up to afterwards. They talked about it one night when they all shared a tent when Theo made Heron a Lord (which was such a great moment by the way, loved that) but I also wanted to see it.

But overall, Ember Queen was a great conclusion. It has high stakes and suspense, plotting, great action and the amazing cast of characters ties it all up.

What a beautiful book. Sarah Crossan always has the most original stories and puts them beautifully into words.

Toffee follows Allison who runs away from home. She strikes up this amazingly heartfelt friendship with a woman with dementia. So beautiful it had me in tears by the end of it.

I love diverse books because it shows how different people face problems that aren't there for me. Parker was a really cool character and I actually like the ending. I do wonder what that note in braille said, though.

This will be one of my favourite YA contemporary romances if not my favourite. The first part is just so sweet and cute. Samantha and Jase have a very healthy relationship, talking about (most of) their problems. I also loved the Garretts. They seem like such a nice family. I glad that The Boy Most Likely To will (probably) also feature them.
The second part had me in tears and it's suspense held me in its grip.
This book is mostly about the truth and how the truth always finds a way out into the open.
I definitely recommend this book. Especially for fans of Morgan Matson, Jenny Han and Stephanie Perkins.
