Lack of editing distracted from an unremarkable story.
Strange story. Lyrical, though the metaphor was a bit lost on me.
Worthwhile, timely read. Left a bit to be desired on the “overcoming” piece.

medium-paced
Will Smith has long been a favorite celebrity of mine so I was super excited to read his memoir. He’s definitely had some incredible life experiences, and is an entertaining story teller. If you like Will’s public persona, you’ll likely enjoy his book. It’s tricky to write a celebrity memoir that’s honest without coming across as a jerk, but overall, I’d say he accomplished that. I didn’t love every section, there were a few typos, and my first copy had pages 52-81 missing so I had to get a different copy, but he loses a full star for not even mentioning Scientology 🤨 Overall: fun and had a solid through line which I appreciated, but was missing the wow factor for me.
