A fascinating story centered around the idea of “nature vs. nurture” and what someone can overcome. Extremely dark but never over the top for someone who prefers dark psychological thrillers. Kept me guessing until the end. 

I really enjoyed this book! A modern spin on a ghost story. I got some serious Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House vibes. I couldn’t put it down, I simply needed answers. Would definitely recommend! 

I wanted so badly to like this book but I essentially had to force my way through it. A dark but interesting concept muddied by an untrustworthy storyteller and irrelevant stories & things happening

I’m very torn on how I feel about this book. Overall, it read very slow and I felt like I had to force myself through it. On the other side, it was a brilliant idea and a one-of-a-kind story. 

Wow - it would be an understatement to say I loved this book. It was beautifully written and left me in tears. This is the perfect example of “don’t judge a book by its cover” or its title for that matter. I was expecting a completely different story than the one I received. It details something that is very near and dear to my heart so I found it exceptionally capturing. 

A good book leaves you wanting more and that is exactly what this one did. One evening, I sat down to read (I was on page 92) and I finished it that evening. I could not fall asleep after finishing it.
