Not Maguire's best work at all. The premise starts out promisingly, but ends fairly blandly. I felt like I didn't get any conclusion or meaning out of any of it.
There were maybe a dozen moments when I was laughing out loud with this book. Vonnegut has some fantastic criticisms of our society. However, I didn't enjoy the rambling, almost thought-flow style of the book. It's also extremely repetitive which was a conscious device, I'm certain, but for me it didn't add anything. I enjoyed Slaughterhouse Five, so I'm going to try another Vonnegut book before I decide if I love him or just respect him.
Snow Glass Apple was just another retelling of Snow White from a different viewpoint. It was okay, but I'm tired of retellings. Wicked is the only one I've read that managed to pull itself above the genre and create its own life.
The second play, Murder Mysteries, was a tale about angels in the Silver City prior to the creation of the universe. And murder. It was a promising concept, but wasn't wonderfully written.
I'm going to read Stardust. If I don't like that then I'm done with Gaiman.

Looking forward to the second Gently book. This is the first Douglas Adams I have read, but has definitely hooked me for more.
It was an easy read, and I liked it. Still it was a bit like a young adult fantasy story, with some random sex and language thrown in to make it seem adult. Oh, and the deus ex machina was a little rampant. But the overall concept was sweet and enjoyable.
I love a good mystery, and this is just that.
