Può darsi che sia principalmente un problema di aspettative, ma da un gotico che esplicitamente o quasi si rifà a Shirley Jackson e Henry James mi aspettavo della tensione, invece zero.

Plus size heroine, food-show producer feels like getting fitter and tries the gym with best friend, where she meets Grant, trainer into BDSM.
insta-lust, not heavy on BDSM, pretty hot not scorching.
There's an element I felt sort of problematic, and I've seen the same in Sugar Daddy, so must be something of a trait for the writer. Heroine's best friend says not friendly stuff, and it's the H who has her deal with it to find some distance and so forth. And that leaves me meh
