The plot twist at the end was pretty predicable, but I did
feel horrible about Nehemia's death. I don't really like that the only POC in the book is killed as character development, however. And if Maas had killed off Fleetfoot as well, I WOULD HAVE committed felonies.
However, this still just feels like every basic fantasy series from the time period and I don't super understand why this series is regarded as the best of Maas' work.

This might be with the fact that I read this as an audiobook, but I lowkey just don't remember much about this. It just felt kind of predictable.

Pretty good, although I feel that the big dramatic fake out could've been avoided; I have conflicting feelings about how easily.

Suzanne Collins is such a masterful writer. The Hunger Games is such an important story, especially in today's political climate, and I thank her so much for writing it. We need these point blank reminders.

As interesting as this book is, I just don't like any of the characters, and that makes it hard to like. Irene sucks, Clare sucks, Brian sucks, John Bellew sucks.

The writing, however, is super cool. The feeling of paranoia you get from being in Irene's mind is very uncomfortable to experience.

Also, Clare and Irene should've been lovers this book is SO queer coded.

I think I'd like this better if the ending didn't feel unresolved.
Like what's going on with Tulani (i audiobooked this i apologize if that spelling is wrong) and Edda with the whole Radden thing?

This was a really healing book for me. I love the way that faith was described in this, and I love these two. The way sex and trauma was talked about in this was so healing. HEAVILY enjoyed this.
