I've always wanted to read Graceling by Kristin Cashore so when I saw there was a graphic novel adaption I was super excited!
The magic system in which people can have 'graces' was super fun and I loved our main character Katsa. The relationship between her and the main male protagonist was beautifully developed.
I know graphic novel artworks is very subjective, so although the art wasn't my favourite I could still see the talent involved. I also felt that this lacked some world building and had some stilted dialogue that would probably be solved in the full length novel.
Criticisms aside this was a great fast paced young adult fantasy graphic novel that I would recommend if you're new to YA graphic novels or an existing fan of the Graceling series.

Not perfect but full of heart and joy
We're separated by time and space. And yet, somehow, we're all made of dust and stars.

Great narration. Quite repetitive, had some interesting chapters but nothing that was new to me.

I want to preface this by saying I don't usually read poetry however the collection's exploration of female duality really drew me in.
The paintings of wildfire and flowers made reading the poems a particularly beautiful experience. The alternating strength and softness of femininity explored resonated with me and I was surprised at how many of the poems I loved.
My favourites include:
what's it like to be so bold?: a commentary on the double standards between masculinity and femininity.
herself. the strength in self belief
he's never wanted someone so much. explored feminine duality
show them who's queen. a self explanatory title

I would recommend this for people who are new to poetry but would like to explore femininity in different forms.
