A story that many mothers can relate to, including me. I found myself going through a few different stages of liking and disliking characters, and the decisions they were making, throughout the book.
This may have been a possible 5 star read for me until I read the epilogue. That was disappointing because it became unbelievable. All the rest of the story was spot on but the final words were not something realistic for most of us.

This is my first Ann Patchett book. I neither liked or disliked this book so mid way of 3 stars for me. I guess I should read another in hopes to find out why she is such a loved author.
I don’t really get the hype. It was just a slow story about the past and current life of a woman/actor. I didn’t care for any of the characters and cringed at a few of the main characters choices.
The narration by Meryl Streep was interesting and easy to listen to but the voices of the characters were not consistent. She seemed to forget to switch to the certain voice frequently.
I am happy to have read this book though.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this book. I didn't dislike it because I kept listening to it. But it wasn't more than a like for me.
I did feel it went on and on too long without much exciting happening. Maybe it there was more unexpected things happening it wouldn't have felt so long. Listening the the repetitive texts and emails was annoying but thankfully it wasn't for the whole book. The reading of the letter by Dan was a lot of unnecessary info too. I just feel this book could've used some more editing.
The last 10 minutes of the audio book was good and was like... ooh!
I'm likely in the minority of opinions since this is a Reese Witherspoon book recommendation. It is the reason I read it.

This is the first audio I’ve listened to that did the multiple voices and sounds. I very much enjoyed that and looking forward to hearing more this way. All the voices were excellent!

It’s been a bit of time since I read a Lisa Jewell book so this was perfect to get back into the thriller genre. Great story! And great ending, except I really want to know what is true!
There were a few parts that I was thinking “why would you do that?” And shook my head. I wouldn’t! But maybe I’m just too sceptical about some people.

I’m looking forward to reading more Jewell books! I. So glad I was able to get this current top pick to read!

This is my first Jenny Colgan book. She did a wonderful job of describing locations. I could easily visualize where the story was taking place. I also enjoyed the relationship between Carmen and her sister Sofia and nieces and nephew, and with Mr McCredie.
What I didn’t like was the “romance” between Carmen and Oke and Blair. I’m not a fan of this troupe. It’s always eye rolling to me and a waste of time. Unfortunately in the last 80% of the story there were too many scenes that felt unbelievable like a tree full of leaves in the winter, a train just showing up out of no where on a deserted line, Oke just magically being at the same location at the same time also in the middle of no where, Skylar being the only one walking down a hall way in an empty university hallway.
I felt like a the fate of the bookstore was left dangling. Did it survive? What about Mr McCredie? This part of the story seemed to be just left.
I was completely lost with the epilogue. I reread it a couple of times trying to figure it out. I never did.

3.5 stars for me but only going to show 3 since it definitely wasn’t a 4 star. A pretty good story with lots of twists but the very last scene. I wasn’t a fan of the ending. There were a few spots through the book that had me rolling my eyes at the predictable actions.
This was my first Shari Lapena book and look forward to reading more.

Just started listening to this audiobook and wanted to note that I’m not big on the first person doing the reading as Trent. He enunciates the last letter of the final word in a sentence too strongly. That’s something I noticed right away and can’t get past. Also just don’t like the voice.
Overall the story just was a meh for me.

Was chosen by my book club but I just could not get in to it.

I had taken a break from NR books but had recently started back again. She is a great author and this book shows why. I loved this book but I wasn't happy about how nothing was solved or ended. There was a major cliffhanger at the end which is ok but the next book is not out for another year. In that case I believe some kind of ending should have been written in somewhere. I had considered only giving 4 stars due to this but it was just too good to do that.
Waiting not so patiently for book #2.
