I listened to this in an afternoon. I don’t generally read biographies but I was drawn to listen to her truths. Such a hard world she was forced to live. I could not imagine having all my power taken away. And it made me cry to listen to how her children were kept from her. So evil of her supposed loved ones. Wow! I’m so glad that Britney came out on the other side of the conservatorship a much stronger woman. It took strength to tell this story. Thank you!! And best wishes!

My first 5 Star read of the year!
It has been a long while since I read a thriller that kept me reading as much as this one did!
Fast-paced, kept me guessing, very interesting, almost always believable thriller! It was really impressed with how this author could include so many details, step by step, and add in great plot twists. I am so looking forward to reading her next thriller!! I hope there is more!
There was just one sentence that I believe did not fit and that was toward the very end. When one of the characters shouted out Evie's real name and she turned. With all the preparation and work Evie did to become Evie, I highly doubt that she would have turned. This did not ruin the story at all though.

I loved this book. There was a couple of times I wished it would move on from the daily updates of the series panned events through the week but that was minimal. I enjoyed the growth of the characters. I enjoyed the humour. The ending was perfect!

It’s been a few years since I’ve stopped reading this series. I listened on audio and was a little disappointed with the quality. I had to speed it up substantially to sound like someone’s actual talking speed. Plus I heard every draw of breath from the narrator. Audiobooks sure have improved since this was done.
The plot was ok. I neither disliked nor liked so it’s a 2 for me. It was good to get reacquainted with some characters again and I love the fact that it’s set in Canada with some Canadian facts and history provided. I am looking forward to reading the next one in the series at some point.

Sarah Morgan is a new author to me. I've read just a few of her books so far and liked them. This one though was a bit disappointing. Maybe it's because it's a few years older then the other ones I read? Maybe it's just the story?
I found the whole story to be a bit depressing. All of the characters were not happy until the end of course for that happy ending. There was hardly any positives through out.
There were many instances during the read that I found the circumstances unbelievable or the facts didn't line up. It was like it needed one more proofread/edit before being published.
For example... if Caroline and Gwen were such good friends, I find it hard to believe that Caroline did not tell Gwen the reason that she dumped Ed.
Or.... that Nancy was able to fit 27 boxes of junk into her car to deliver them to Goodwill. Cars are not that big these days.
Or another example... with all the characters claiming to be broke or without extra spending money, there sure was a lot of spending going on especially with the redecorating of the two houses. Thrift store purchases, furniture, fabric, a new kitchen, paint, garden plants and bushes, etc. That sure is a lot of money to do all of that.
I was happy to see that everyone was moving in a more positive direction at the end and that the general mood had turned to the positive.

This book was interesting but it was too long. There were parts in the middle that could have been edited out so the interesting part at the end didn't seem to take so long to end. I found it anti-climatic really.
Listening took me a bit longer than normal because I took a break part way due to it not holding my interest well enough.
I do love the cover!

The first book I’ve read from this author. It was a book club pick. I’m not sure I would’ve picked this book to read if not for the book club.
The plot was ok but I did not favour any of the characters. There were points in the story that I thought were drown out and could’ve moved a bit faster. As well there was police decisions that I felt were unbelievable like leaving a hurt victim by herself in an unprotected building. Or the fact that there was absolutely no other law enforcement that could come to the island to help.
I wasn’t really pleased that all the questions were not answered by the end but I guess that will help in the next book. 🤷🏼♀️

I've recently discovered Sarah Morgan books and have been enjoying making my way through her list. I was pleased to be able to have an ARC for this new summer read. I could feel the sunshine and hear the waves at the beach while reading this!
The story is has some romance but it is much more than romance. It shows us how, no matter what age or where we are in our lives, there is always time and room for us to become true to ourselves. To explore what makes us happy now and for our future, without having regrets about our choices in the past.
I love that there are many generations focused on in the plot, as well as including some men, although not shown from the viewpoint but their thoughts and feelings are seen. I felt many different emotions through the story, including some genuine tears. The relationship between Lily and Cecilia I absolutely loved! The respect and care they showed each other, even though their ages were 50 years apart, was extremely well done!
There were just a couple of things that stopped me from giving a full 5 stars.... One - the timelines moved unrealistically fast. The redecorating the cottage in just a couple of days didn't feel doable and how fast relationships moved to the "living together" stage. Two - when Theo was trying to win back Kristen he focused completely on not supporting her when her father died and there was no mention about the previous years when he was not there or supportive. And Kristen didn't call him on this. She should have!! And Three - I didn't get how this was a "Summer Swap".
I loved this book, would definitely recommend it!

What a great plot! Well written and twists at the right time. It had me listening during every free hour I had! It was perfect!
I loved the author’s notes at the end. Every word was so true and I completely agree!
The narrator did a great job and was easy to listen to.

I loved the feeling reading this story gave. I could picture the seaside town and imagined myself there. It made me wish I really was. The friendships between the women and the neighbours was enviable!
The first part of the book started off great but as I read I became bored. At about 3/4 I started to skip multiple paragraphs so I could get to where relationships and truths moved forward. It was just too much of the same thing every day.
Overall it was a lighthearted read about finding joy in life, romance and healing the pains from the past
