I just couldn’t get into this. I didn’t like any of the women or their relationship and how they communicated with each other. It’s hard to imagine they are friends. So disappointing. 

My first Diane Chamberlain book which with the number of books she has written, surprised me. Unfortunately, I am going to be in the minority for the like of this book and still not have read a whole DC book. I am dnf'ing at about 21%. I was not liking either of the MC which is big for me to stay involved in the story. I also am not interested in reading something so politically focused. I could write more but I will just leave it at this. 

I'm NOT a fan. Lots of words to say so little. Authors should never be the narrator of their own books. 

I got halfway through I realized I was no longer enjoying this story. Nothing was happening. I wasn’t connecting to any of the characters and I kept getting lost. I decided to jump ahead to part 3 and then thought “why?”. That’s where I stopped. I don’t need to finish it. 

The author is the narrator and her voice is so very monotone. I tried to listen but it really should be someone who has experience narrating and knows how to read out loud to an audience. 
Maybe it would be a good story to read instead but I didn’t find it that interesting in the 8% I finished to even bother considering that option. 

I tried this book as an audio first and quickly realized that this was not the best way to read this book. So I switched to digital. Unfortunately the whole book is layed out in a movie/tv script format with newspaper clippings and book/report pages, etc. None of it is done is traditional book format, which is pretty cool but difficult to read, for me. 
I love the concept but I want to read it in story form maybe with a few pages of different format amongst the pages. 

I was drawn to this book because of the cover and title and my love of book clubs but the actual book club part of this story is a very minor part, unfortunately. 
The story line became very repetitious. It was like the author was having difficulty with finding other ideas to add to the plot. I found it hard to keep with reading.  I did not need to be reminded about Libby's grandmother leaving her alone. And that her issues with trust were attached. The inherited box for Libby was mentioned way too much. I found myself thinking just open the darn thing! I got it that Ben came had money and did not need to be told so frequently. 
It could be a quick and easy read about small town friendships and living but I became frustrated with the repetition and dnf'd the book. Maybe if I could have connected with at least one of the characters I could have continued the story but that didn't happen either.  I am giving it 2 stars even though I chose to stop reading. I really wish I could have continued because I love so many of the author's other books.

I tried.
I failed. 
I believed the story line had a chance. I loved the idea of feeling emotion from books. This would have been great to read about but the book in the story was just not any good. It did not hold my interest and became obvious that it was going to be the primary focus of the story. Very early on I started skipping pages within the story’s book. That’s an obvious sign that things are not going well in regards to me staying with it. 
Also the main character was frustrated about lack of details in finding out who wrote the book but look, there’s some details. 🙄 I just can’t deal with plots that don’t have continuity. 
I gave it a try and then gave up.

I tried to read this in book form but could not get into it. So I tried a second time but listened to the audiobook. It was a no go as well. I got about a third of the way through but nothing was happening. It was boring (sorry) and then there was the added negative health aspect thrown in. I just couldn't deal with that. I also did not like the voice that the narrator was using for gigi. 
 I guess this is just not the right book for me.
