I loved this story so much. It had Beauty and the Beast vibes and that's one of my favourite Disney fairytales. I only gave this 4 instead of 5 stars because the sex scenes became a bit too much for me at some point and so I started skipping them. All in all I enjoyed the book

Beverly Jenkins is an author like no other. This story is rich in content, exceptional in delivery. The story is Well-balanced with the external plot adding to the story of the main characters, not detracting from it. The characters truly come alive; Raven, Hazel, Braxton, Harrison, Dorrie and all the other Moreau family members , and their enemies make tbis an exciting story from start to end. I'm so glad I read this, I thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt so much about Black History

This book just didn't do it for me, it felt very clichéy 

My first Deanna Grey book and she has officially joined my list of new favourite authors! This story had me in my feelings! Naomi and Finn's love story is so beautifuland wholesome. I loved the depiction of college life and how through Naomi and Finn and their friends group we see different perspectives of the college experience through the different personalities. I usually don't like college romances because the characters always seem overly mature but this was just right. I have fallen in love with the Mendell Hawks and can't wait to read the rest of the series!

This book cemented K Alex Walker as one of my new favourite authors. Although the story drew me in because of the love story between Mataio and Tia, it is so much more than that. The author provides so much insight into the history and culture of Polynesia. Her attention to detail is amazing. The dialogue and banter between the characters is so on point; I found myself highlighting almost the entire book. 
I also loved how the story portrayed beautiful loving relationships between Mataio and his childhood friend Sefa and Naomi as well as the presence and influence of his grandmother Isla. This is easily one of my favourite books this year.

I truly loved the concept behind this story and wanted to love the book too. However it read more like a mystery or a light suspense thriller than a romance and I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, a feeling I wasn't enjoying. I really loved the POV of Li Wei, I think the author did a great job portraying what it must be like for an AI to learn how to become human. I might go back to it for that reason alone
