I don’t think flash fiction is for me. I’ve read several stories & have only enjoyed one. They stories are too short to make an impact for my personal reading taste.
All that arguing is getting on my nerves. As usual with enemies to lovers romances. Idk why I keep trying that trope when I obviously hate it. You’ll never catch me picking up a contemporary enemies to lovers romance again unless it’s by an author that I already love.

This was so funny and cute! The main character, Joyce, was so much fun to follow! The world building was great! This book almost has me wanting to be a grim reaper! The only thing that I didn’t enjoy was the romance. Aiden was so rude to her for no good reason in the beginning of the book that I didn’t care when he started being nice, I couldn’t forget how rude he was, making it to where I didn’t root for their relationship. But I loved Joyce and the story and I can’t wait for the sequel!

The male love interest is just trash. If I was the woman main character, I would never forgive him and I’d take all his money and spit on his grave when he dies. I cannot see myself ever rooting for them to get together, so there’s no point in me continuing this romance.
This was my first Aubree Pynn novel, but I’ll definitely try her other work. This male love interest is just not it.

Looking for a queer, foodie, fake dating romance that’s about love, family (+ family drama👀), and culture? Then this book is for you!
First of all, look at this cover!😍 It is absolutely gorgeous! Definitely one of my favorite covers of all time. This book made me soooo hungry. I NEED to try a mooncake in real life immediately! I liked the characters so much. Dylan and his whole family, including his puppy Clover, were so lovable! It did take me a minute to warm all the way up to Theo, (maybe because he didn’t have any POV chapters, so I didn’t always understand his decisions) but by the end of the novel, he was just as lovable as the other characters.
There were times throughout the story where I wanted a little more, like I wanted a little more depth. But, in the last 40% of the novel, the depth and pacing were perfect. I was expecting to give it 3 stars before that point, but I had to move it up a star!
I’d recommend this book to anyone who wants a cute romance that will definitely make your mouth water!
Thank you Random House Children’s and NetGalley for this arc. All opinions are my own.

If you know me, then you know that Tananarive Due is my favorite author of all time, so I could not wait to read her newest short story collection and I really enjoyed it! I loved that so many of the stories connected to her previous books! We get to revisit Gracetown & a few other stories from Ghost Summer and read a story that was related to her graphic novel, The Keeper. It was exciting to revisit those stories! I also enjoyed the mention of the reformatory from Tananarive Due’s upcoming novel👀
Some of my favorite stories were The Biographer, Haint in the Window, Rumpus Room, and Migration! I will say that several of the stories felt incomplete to me. I think some of the stories should’ve been longer and could’ve had a more fleshed out ending, but overall I really enjoyed this collection! Tananarive Due never disappoints!

This beautifully written collection of letters explores what happens when we imagine loving the people, and the parts of ourselves, that we don’t believe are worthy of love and acceptance.
I enjoyed this novel. I loved the writing, it was very lyrical, I highlighted several quotes. Some of my favorite letters were “to the deathwalkers”, “to the johns”, “to a trans femme of color child from a trans femme of color ancestor”, and “to me, from a revolutionary trans femme of color living in the distant future”. I also really enjoyed that there were activities for reflection, self love, etc. after each letter.
I’d recommend this to anyone who loves poetry! Poetry is usually hit or miss for me, so I think I would’ve appreciated it more if I was more of poetry person.

I really loved this book! Against my will actually. I tried to DNF it twice because Damien was A LOT in the beginning🤦🏽♀️ But every time I put it down, I kept coming back. I was ADDICTED! The character development was so amazing. The character growth was amazing. Seeing the character’s progression and the story’s progression was just perfection. How do you write a 700+ page book that’s fast paced and un-put-down-able??? I couldn’t get enough of this story. 750 pages wasn’t enough, I need even more! But I’m very satisfied with the way the book ended, so I guess I don’t need more, but I just miss these characters already and it hasn’t even been an hour since I left them.
There was one thing that I didn’t like though. I’m not a fan of the surprise pregnancy trope in any capacity anyway, but what bothered me was that Damien basically FORCED Dream not to get an abortion. If she had came to that conclusion on her own, cool. But I don’t like that Damien’s threat was the main reason she didn’t get an abortion. It’s her body, so I wish it had been completely her decision to keep the baby (or not if she didn’t want to) without Damien’s influence. And because I was upset about that plus I don’t like surprise pregnancy, that part of the book dragged a little for me. But as you can see by my 5 star rating, it wasn’t enough to take away my love for this book!
