Wasn't fully engaged but not a full dnf

Just was not capturing my interest at all!

I couldn't tell you what's happened, a but dull and I've far too many other things to read to continue

Don't like the writing style or tense used

Dnf at 127pages. Thought it was building up but it was just dragging. Highly anticipated read based on the premise but it was sitting at a 3* read and I was finding it dull with characters who are unlikeable and I don't really care who lives or who dies.

Hackneyed similes. No. Just no.

Reading other reviews I think it wise to leave alone.

Not for me, I was out off by the unnecessary use of a racial slur for a black cat, characters are stereotypes and it's just inane.

Decided to DNF at 62%

I love American Psycho, I love the satirical and dark comedy elements, the commentary on consumerism, materialism and consumption.

So I went into this knowing BEE'S focus and style, knowing his focus on labels and societal show off points and knowing he's pretty graphic with sex and violence.

Despite knowing all that I'm just bored and don't care.

This book is too long with too little story. Too many repetitive scenes and conversations.

Marketed as horror thriller autofiction there's no horror or thriller coming through.

It's just horny AF and overall I'm not connected enough or enthralled enough to want to continue.

Gutted as I bought the Hardback (thankfully holiday money so doesnt feel like a complete waste), and I had really been anticipating this.

I'd rather reread American Psycho, Rules of Attraction and Less Than Zero as all three combined basically make up this book and in a far more entertaining way.
