This hurt my brain. I wanted to see what the thought process was behind the book but this reflected more on the changes that had happened since the book was written. There was a lot of political talk which isnt something I enjoy at all. Some of the thinking was interesting but it mostly went over the top of my head.

Is this a childrens story or a YA or an adult book? The overall storyline was fun and exciting like you would expect from a childrens book but further through there are random spurts of adult language and topics. Honestly, I didn't think this book would contain the word "horny". The storyline - great. The characters backstories - great. The execution - somewhat questionable. I'd recommend to 15/16 year olds.

A short and sweet thriller. Wasn't predictable. Scarily possible. Nothing too spectacular.

I absolutely devoured this book. I listened to it on 2.5x speed and to he honest, I think it was the narration that made it good. The romance was a bit weird and the book would've been better if more time had been spent on setting the scene as it felt like a big jump from school to crisis to space pandemic.

100% recommend the Audible narration though.

Fantastic memoir. A story of neglect and hope for a young, black person in care from birth.

This was my first very crime book and I am IMPRESSED. My main deterrent from reading crime is predictability and Power Play is far from predictable. All of the characters have perfectly built backgrounds and the plot is perfect. The pacing was quick, which I appreciated and the chapter lengths were very appropriate for each scene. Once I got into the story, I honestly couldn't put it down. Thank you Tony Kent for an epic introduction to the crime genre!
