I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book. I was so excited to receive this book to review! I loved the first one and couldn't believe there was already a second!

That being said.... Sigh. I really wanted to like this one! I really loved, The Rosie Project. Maybe it was because I had too high of hopes. I know that it was going to be a hit or miss because it just came out so soon. I think he kind of just wanted to ride off of his first success. Either way, it was a bad idea.

I've had this book on my kindle for a little while. I had a hard time getting into this book. It was really quite boring. From the beginning we just get too much of Don's science and facts. It just overwhelmed me at times that I had to skip a couple paragraphs. I didn't really get interested in this book until the last 30%. That's right folks, I had to get 70% of the way through this book for it to grab me! I couldn't believe it.

I was unbelievably, disappointed in Rosie. COME ON!! She knew EXACTLY how Don's personality was and she was acting so childish. I understand, she was pregnant and hormones can mess with you. I just didn't understand why she all the sudden expected him to be a nurturing, happy-go-lucky, father to be. She gave him NO time to digest this information and expected him to be on board, right away. The whole first book was her trying to get through to him about being involved with another person. Now, she's changing the game and adding another life, that he has to be responsible for.

Honestly, I think that Don did an outstanding job. All he wanted to do this whole book was keep her happy and stress free. When he tried to help with her dietary needs, she freaked out on him. I'm sorry, but there are just some things you have to give up, when you become pregnant. Especially, in the early stages. How Don could realize that but she couldn't, I'll never understand. She was in a medical school. I found the idea of him keeping track of the babies size on the tiles, week to week, absolutely touching. I know it was scientific, but Rosie should have realized, how great that was for him. All he wanted to do was help her and he tried so hard. She was so mean to him. She was beyond mean, and he didn't deserve it. She knew who he was but completely disregarded that. This is my biggest issue with this book! There was no compromise and it was so unrealistic. Just to all the sudden give up at the end without fighting. There's a child involved! It's not so easy to just throw in the towel. She acted like he was a child and didn't give him a choice in anything.

Also, Don's personality and "quirkiness" was rather annoying. It was over the top and just not charming, like the first book. I felt like the author just went too far with it. I think that he would really have a much harder time in real life.

I felt that all the supporting characters really didn't have any growth. They didn't really add much to the plot, until the end. They force him to realize the mistake. I just felt like this book didn't have much of a plot and I couldn't get through it fast enough.

I had a hard time trying to decide between two and three stars. I went with three because I did have a touching moment in the end. Also, because I just loved the first book so much. I didn't hate this book and there were moments, I enjoyed.
I really wanted to love this. I hate that I'm disappointed. I really hope he's done with this because he had a great thing.. until this book.

This has been on my TBR list for a long time. I decided to take the plunge and read this in one sitting. Now that sounds misleading. I read this in one sitting, not because I couldn't stop, but because I have limited reading time at the moment. The synopsis sounded so interesting to me. Although, I was surprised to find that the synopsis didn't really match the actual book. I think the synopsis takes the wrong thing to describe the plot. I thought this was going to be about Blue's struggle to not kill her one true love. Turns out, this book is about a bunch of different people, trying to find a dead king that will grant one wish.

"There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark's Eve, Blue. Either you're his true love...or you killed him."

How intriguing is that?!?! I was so excited to see how this would play out and how Blue would save him. You know, that has to happen! Well... after we meet the Raven Boys, things don't really go how I thought they would. Blue ends up with Adam. Then they all decide to look for this king together. That about sums up the book. The plot did not really develop much and it was slow at times. The author actually did the POV of several of the characters. While, it was good to see, it was a little much. There was too much back story that I would have a hard time getting back into the current story. I was getting a little overwhelmed and it took away from the story itself.

Stiefvater did a great job with the actual characters. They were all very interesting and had a lot of character growth by the end of this book. I loved how they all were so different but so close. Blue actually fit right into the group. Although, she is with the wrong guy, I could feel it. I'm pretty sure that Adam did too. I didn't think that much really happened with that relationship. They didn't move forward too much, so I'm a bit confused on where they ended up.

Actually, there's so many things that were not explained at the end of this book. I think there was more unanswered questions at the end of this book than answers. I'm hoping that the next book will clear a lot of that up. I also hope that we get what we wanted with this first book with Blue.

Overall, this was an interesting story and I will be reading the next book to find out what happens. I hope that it's not as slow paced and that we get more of Blue in this book. I really enjoyed her character and it was a shame to not see her more. I also hope that there is no weird love triangle with this. Although, with Adam in the mix, it seems to be heading that way.

This book was definitely interesting. I requested it at work and had it sitting on my table for weeks. It was due in 3 days and had a lot of holds. Did I want to read this or just return it to avoid the fines? I had heard a little bit of the controversy about her sister before I started reading it. I know how people can misconstrue and take things out of context, so it made me curious.

So.. I read this book in one day and had to block a goodreads user. Interesting..

I LOVE the show Girls. It's weird, sometimes goes too far, but really addicting. After reading this book, I really want to binge watch the show from the beginning. I feel like SO much of the show makes sense now.

Lena is really about her self. She is so self-involved and so blunt. She constantly makes up lies, puts herself in the worst situations, and sometimes just doesn't care about things. Although, it really shines a light on the things I really found odd about the show. She really has been through some weird things but that's because she's had a weird life. She's got some major OCD, which is hard to live with. It really shines through this book and makes you understand some things about her.

Now, the controversy.. Yes, some of the things are strange BUT I don't think I would call it sexual abuse. All kids are really confused and curious about their reproductive parts. They want to look at each other and figure out what's going on. How many times have you seen this thing on tv? Yet, you don't here people freaking out about that! There's a part in the book where she is talking about having to pursue her sister for a kiss. When you read the couple paragraphs that go with it, it's really taken out of context. She is talking about how her sister is really closed off and not affectionate. She wriggles away from hugs and doesn't really need any contact. She is trying to get her sister to show her affection. Give her a hug or a kiss. Yeah, she explains it with the wrong words. When I heard about the controversy before I read it, they were saying she was talking about all kinds of incest that she forced on her sister. Not the case.

The loss of a goodreads member: She made a review without reading the book. She was just outraged about the controversy and didn't even take the time to read it. I commented on the review and told her to not judge it without reading it. Those sentences were taken out of context. What does she do? Throw a fit at me and tell me to write my own review while reading the book and not spam. Um, since when is a public review comment spam? I'm pretty sure it's for people to share their opinions. Also, how can I review a book when I'm still reading it?!?! Some people just don't think and that makes me mad. It's so unjust to authors these days. They don't take the time to form their own opinions. Just follow the pack. The sad part is that this person is supposed to be an author. YIKES! If you have a problem with an author, don't write a comment in the reviews when you haven't taken the time to read the book.

Anyways, the book wasn't great but it wasn't bad. It had it's interesting parts and it's weird/boring parts. I feel like I understand her a lot better than before. I think she has a lot of issues that she's had to deal with but this book kind of felt redundant. I felt like I was reading bits of her show, more than essays about her life. I kind of felt like there was some things that were drawn out and just a bit boring to read. After reading the whole thing, I feel like she was trying to hard. It felt a little forced and not really authentic. I just didn't like this as much as I thought I would. She has a lot to say and sometimes it's entertaining.

I want to thank Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book. I saw this on a blog and couldn't wait to get my hands on it. It sounded so interesting and the cover is just gorgeous!

I started this book and finished it, in one night. It's a pretty fast read and the writing flows really well. After reading this, I saw that is based off another book. I've never read that book and no nothing about it.

This book alternates between present and past. I really liked the dark element to this book. I honestly had no idea what was going on. I really liked the modern day, downton abbey setting. I love that kind of time period and love that it had that feel in this book.

I was really "suspicious" about the Mulgraves and how they were involved with Lucia's death. They acted so weird and indifferent to Imogen. I also couldn't wait to find out what was hiding in the maze! I also really liked all the characters that were in this book. There are a lot too. They all added different elements that brought the story together.

I really was surprised by that ending! I had no idea and I'm usually really good at figuring that out. I will say that Sebastian and Imogen... was predictable. The good thing for me though was that it wasn't all about the romance. This book was about the actual plot and things that were happening. It didn't just focus on the romance like a lot of YA books do. Don't get me wrong, I'm always rooting for a bit of romance, but this was refreshing.

Overall, this was a fun light read. There is some dark/mystery element to it as well that makes it all the more interesting. I really enjoyed it!

What a joke! I was expecting some pretty cool things from this book. Nope. Most of these "painting & crafts" were done with a Sharpie. Most of this book is just pretty pictures of their parties. Very disappointed.

I started this book on the 3 hour drive up north, to see our family for Christmas. I got most of the way finished by the time we got to our destination. I finished it this morning. I've read a few celebrity books and I'm usually disappointed. Not with this one.

This is not a "funny" book. There are definitely parts of this book that will make you laugh out loud! What I really like about this book is how brutally honest she is. She opens up about things in her life, not to be funny, but to be honest. She doesn't sugar coat anything. There's a lot in this book for everyone.

I read a few people that had issues with her jumping around with her chapters. She would start one story and then start telling another story, within that story. There are some books that I've been completely lost when they try the same technique. I understand that one memory will bring up others, that relate to what they are trying to say. I think that Amy does a great job going in and out of these other stories. There's some that I've read that will have several stories and then by the time you get back to the original story, you are completely lost.

I love Amy Poehler. I really love her character on Parks and Recreation, Leslie Knope. I felt like when I was reading this book, I kept seeing/hearing Leslie Knope. I think she brings a lot of herself to that character and it makes me appreciate her character more. I loved the insights and tidbits that she shared form SNL and Parks and Recreation. I learned things that I never knew. I really liked her writing style and how she would try to sarcastically make valid points. She didn't become too preachy. There are times when she can take a while to get to her point. She really adds a lot of detail to her stories. So sometimes you can get a little lost in the details.

Overall, I really enjoyed this and I would recommend it to others! She did a great job, even though, she really hated writing this book! haha. Like I said, she's brutally honest.

I want to thank Netgalley and the Publisher for providing me with a copy of this book. This book took me 4 months to read! Not because it was bad or I didn't enjoy it. I received this book right before we purchased our first home! With packing, moving, unpacking and hitting the Holidays, I had no time to read. With that being said, I really enjoyed this book!

I actually skipped the second book because I got so tired of waiting for it at the library. I have to say that it wasn't too damaging not to read it. I got along with the storyline just fine and they were pretty good and getting me up to date. I really love Blue's character. She's so full of life and strong willed but yet you get the sense that she can be fragile. You really get so much more of her character in this book. I loved it. She's such a badass but at the same time very caring.

I loved the way all the characters really grew in this book. The author does a great job of separating them but keeping the storyline together, at the same time. Adam really grows a lot and learns a lot about himself in this book. He comes into his own and it's refreshing. All the snubbing of help was getting a little irritating. Not everyone thinks it's charity when they are trying to help or be a friend! Yay, he finally got that at the end of this one.

There's a lot of serious, complicated things going on in this book. Although, Stiefvater does a great job with the humor. I love the banter between the boys and Blue. It keeps the seriousness of the book lighter.

One of the things that I didn't like about this book is that some of the details were a bit overwhelming. Mostly, when it came to Adam. Sometimes I found myself kind of tuned out. I mean there's a lot of different things going on in this book. We have some added characters too. So sometimes when Adam was going off into his head, it would feel like an information overload.

I really enjoyed this book and that ending!! I can't wait for the next book. I was sure this was the last book. I usually try to wait until all the books are out before I start reading a series. It's a new thing, that will make it easier. I hope. I'm not sure how many more books will be in this series. I'll have to look into that.

I want to thank Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book.

I started this yesterday and finished today. I could not put this down. I LOVE the fact that this is a stand alone book. It's so refreshing! It seems like almost every YA book has a trilogy or more attached to it. This book was great! It was fast paced and so interesting, that I couldn't put it out of my mind. I hated going to work because I just wanted to know what was going on! To me, that's a great book. When I can't concentrate on anything else but the book.

I read the Across the Universe series and liked it. I thought it was just okay. This book was so much better then that whole series. Beth Revis did a great job with the characters and plot of this book. I mean the storyline itself is unique. She makes the world seem like it's real and you know exactly what she's talking about. It was just so vivid. Ella and Jack are such strong characters. You can feel the way that Ella feels about her fathers loss and how deeply she feels it. The same way about Jack and his feelings for her. This book is definitely more of a sci-fi than anything else. I usually have a hard time with those and I did not have this problem.

This book was fast paced and it never got boring for me. Something was always happening and there was always another twist or turn. There's definitely a romance but it's really not the focus of this story. It's more of a background story and that's also refreshing. Don't get me wrong, I love a romance, but sometimes a book can become just the romance.

One of the downfalls for me was the ending. It was just abrupt. I was about 15 pages out and thinking, how in the world is she going to end this?! I just happened really fast and I would have liked a little more. The ending made me feel like I was missing something.

Overall, I really enjoyed this! I wasn't sure that I would read this because I didn't love her previous series. I'm glad that I did. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Ah, I've missed this world! I was excited to see that we would get a little bit of Cara and Aelyx before Invaded releases (I can't wait). I got through this so fast. My ONLY complaint is that it was TOO short. I know, I know. It's a short, duh. I just wished there was more. Not a negative thing but I just personally want more!

They are about to be separated for a year and are spending their last day together. Aelyx is trying to give her a Christmas, a little early. Of course, things get in the way of them spending time together. I really can't wait to get more of Troy's story. Also, the dynamic between Cara and Troy is pretty fun.

I am worried that Invaded will have a lot less of Aelyx and Cara, since they will be on separate planets. This was a cute refresher! Can't wait for book 2!
