I liked this book more than the first. It started off fast and just kept going. It was such a quick read. I am a big fan of Janet's writing. She always makes it light and fun. I feel like in this book Nick rubbed off on Kate a little bit and she on him. He's starting to become aware of his actions and think about someone else besides himself. I also love how his mind works and how the schemes always come about. It kind of reminds me of Sherlock in a way. I will definitely be reading the next book.
I love the cover of this book. It seems to be a theme of late with the exploding flowers. Anyways, at first, I wasn't sure where this book was going. I knew that there was no way he could be trusted and that something shady was going on. I can't believe that Hannah could be so gullible. First of all, who gets married to someone without knowing anything about his side of the family? Come on? He has a sibling but doesn't want to talk about it. She knows nothing. There are plenty of big red flags going off but she chooses to ignore them all.She doesn't really know much about his past but thinks she's in a fairytale. It turns out that Mister "Perfect" was hiding some pretty huge secrets. I will say that the book was really predictable. It's interesting if you don't think about it and just go with the flow.
Wow. I read through this whole book in the matter of a few hours. It's a really quick read but it's just so interesting. There was so much little bits of wisdom throughout this book. It's about a guy, who loses everything in about 6 weeks. He had everything, the job, the house, the car, and the wife. The sweet thing about it was how much he loved his wife. She ends up falling off a horse and becoming paralyzed. After her death, just a month later, he makes a hard decision and decides to just.. walk. He starts his journey and he meets some people along the way that also add some wisdom to this book. There are also some people who he meets that will make his journey harder than it already is. There are some amazing quotes in this book that I'll add:
"It is in the dark times that the light of friendship shines brightest.”
“As a boy I heard this story in church.
A man was patching a pitched roof of a tall building when he began sliding off. As he neared the edge of the roof he prayed, "Save me, Lord, and I'll go to church every Sunday, I'll give up drinking, I'll be the best man this city has ever known."
As he finished his prayer, a nail snagged onto his overalls and saved him. The man looked up to the sky and shouted, "Never mind, God. I took care of it myself."
How true of us.”
“The assumption of time is one of humanity's greatest follies. We tell ourselves that there's always tomorrow, when we can no more predict tomorrow than we can the weather. Procrastination is the thief of dreams.”
Those are just a few. I really liked this book. I'm so glad I brought the next two home with me and have started the next book!

This book made me think.
It starts out a little slow but then it picks up the pace around the middle and you can't stop. You just have to know what's going to happen. The three different stories intertwine throughout this book and [a:Liane Moriarty|322069|Liane Moriarty|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1276694079p2/322069.jpg] kept be guessing about what the husband's secret could be.
What I got from this book, was basically this: One decision, no matter how small, can impact lives forever. It really makes you think about all the decisions, even the little ones that seem unimportant, and how they can change your life forever.
The end of this book is what really got me. I couldn't believe the turn of events. They always say that God doesn't give you what you can't handle. I think the moment that Cecilia realizes she can handle her daughter's situation and why, made me realize this is true. Cecilia has the kind of life where she is in charge of everything. She can deal with it and when she realizes she can, It made me realize the truth behind that old saying. The epilogue was interesting because the author shows you about all the "what if" moments.
